Studio Art
Discovery Prep offers a full range
of art related courses and extracurricular
activities. Our arts department is lead by 2 full-time
art teachers. AP studio art classes are offered for
those students looking to excel in studio arts. There
are student exhibitions where students can exhibit
their best work.
Music Classes
Music and orchestra
classes are offered and students are encouraged to
take up an instrument of their choice.
Drama
Drama is a creative and academic outlet for students
to enjoy themselves while preparing for the country's
top Universities and Colleges. Our Drama department
includes 2 of our English teachers who have extensive
experience and knowledge in writing, directing, acting,
filming and all other aspects of drama. Each year
the department presents at least one play and students
attend plays in the greater Los Angeles ar ea..
Debate/Speech
Discovery Debate is dedicated to excellence. Debaters
at Discovery Prep attend multiple practices during
the week in preparation of monthly debate tournaments
that are held all over the state of California. In
the 2005/2006 year 4 team members qualified for the
State tournament. They were also ranked 3rd in the
league.
