The French Travel Club (FTC) was created in Spring 2006 to respond to student interest in an educational trip to France. After a careful screening process requiring an essay, parental approval and a 2.5 GPA or higher the fourteen participants were selected and the club was born.

Since May 2006, FTC members have participated in car washes, garage sales, candy sales, Skateland and McDonald’s fundraiser nights to earn the $14,000 dollars necessary for their trip. Students have also contributed personal funds and staff and friends of the school have donated time and money to this endeavor.

On their trip, French-speaking students will visit monuments in Paris, the châteaux in the Loire Valley, and the Omaha Beaches in Normandy. They will also meet their French penpals in Paris. Vive l’amitié! All fourteen students are extremely excited to be a part of Discovery Prep’s first trip abroad and cannot wait to share experiences and photos upon their return. Go Warriors!
