In keeping with our mission of getting
all students into college, Discovery Prep's graduation
requirements are based on the California State University
and University of California standards. These standards
are the minimum required to graduate from Discovery
Prep and are detailed below.
Graduation Requirements
- Fulfill the
UC/CSU entrance requirements
- Fulfill the
CA state graduation requirements
- Take the ACT
or SAT reasoning test and 2 SAT subject Tests
- Complete 200
hrs of Service Learning
- Complete 1 Summer
Institute
- No Credit is
given for grades below a “C.”
Curriculum
- Innovative freshman curriculum designed to make
sure all students have academic foundation for advanced classes.
- Unique project based college prep curriculum.
- AP classes offered in: Math, History, Language
and English
- All AP classes are exempt
from including the project in the curriculum.
All students who take AP classes are required
to take the AP exam.
- 45% of students take
at least one AP class.
